ALL ABOUT YOUR TEACHERS

I am very excited to be welcomed into the Ashford School family for the 2017-2018 school year! I received a Bachelor of Science in Health & Physical Education from Eastern Connecticut State University in the fall of 2015. While at ECSU I played division III men’s lacrosse. Prior to arriving at Ashford School, I spent a year and a half teaching in the Killingly school district. When I am not in school, I enjoy hiking, fishing, coaching lacrosse and playing golf. I truly have the greatest job in the world and wake up every day excited to come to work and teach.

I absolutely love that I have the opportunity to teach Health and PE at Ashford School, and get be a contributor to the WINGS program. Prior to Ashford, I taught in Manchester, and received my Bachelor of Science in Health & Physical Education from Eastern Connecticut State University in 2011. In my spare time I like to go to the beach, run, read and spend time with family & friends.

Philosophy

We believe at Ashford School that every child should experience success and satisfaction in Physical Education and Health. Our goal as teachers is to help students to develop and maintain an attraction to physical activity. The concepts and skills we will provide them with will serve as tools they can apply outside of school so they may lead healthy and active lifestyles.

In Ashford, we continually reflect on our programs effectiveness in reaching students. Our program is unique in that we attempt to maximize physical activity time by integrating health concepts into the gymnasium.
